Scott Goodkin

Photographer / Videographer / Chief Pilot

Lentez Director, Scott A. Goodkin, has an extensive background in photography, video production and flying.

Providing the very best service he can offer is a big part of the Lentez business philosophy. To accomplish that, it is important to have a blend of skills and a positive attitude.

Scott earned his private pilot’s license in 1983, in Fairbanks, Alaska. He flew all around Alaska’s arctic wilderness, including several trips over the Arctic Circle. It was then that he combined his passion for photography and flying. He later went on to fly as a volunteer search and rescue pilot for the Civil Air Patrol in Jackson Hole Wyoming in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Scott became interested in photography when he moved to the stunning, landscape rich, Juneau, Alaska in 1980.  In 1988, while attending university in Fairbanks, Alaska, he was hired by the Cooperative Extension Service where he learned commercial photography and video production. His boss Kathy College, an award winning TV producer, taught him the art of video production and her husband, Ken College, a celebrated Alaskan nature photographer shared his craft as well. Scott was able to win several awards for his work and was published in Alaska and nationally in the USA.

Over the years, Scott has photographed most of the western United States. He produced a 24 episode weekly television series called “The Family Journal” in the Boise, Idaho market and co-produced an hour television documentary on legendary rock star Jon Anderson of the internationally acclaimed progressive rock band YES. That show was nominated for Best TV Documentary of 2004 in the Western Alliance for Video Excellence (W.A.V.E.) awards.

Following his move to Australia in 2008, Scott continues his work in photography and video production offering a variety of commercial services, including his latest addition of aerial drone photography and aerial drone video production. He is a member of the Australian Society of Travel Writers, and served as their judge for Photographer of the Year in 2011, 2012 and 2013. He has provided many articles on the Blue Mountains and over fifty magazine cover shots in Blue Mountains tourism publications.
